The following Terms and Conditions apply to the RNID Weekly Lottery and RNID’s Superdraws
The RNID Weekly Lottery is licensed and regulated in Great Britain by the Gambling Commission under the Gambling Act 2005 (www.gamblingcommission.gov.uk), under account number 4676. Responsible Person: James Abbott of RNID. RNID’s registered office: RNID, Brightfield Business Hub, Bakewell Road, Orton Southgate, Peterborough, PE2 6XU. Registered Charity Numbers: 207720 (England and Wales) and SC038926 (Scotland).
All proceeds from the Weekly Lottery and Superdraws go directly to RNID.
General
- By purchasing an entry, you agree to these term and conditions. Any participation instructions form part of these terms and conditions. Any entry not complying with these terms and conditions will be invalid. The RNID’s decisions will be final and binding.
- You represent and agree that:
- You are 18 years of age or over
- You are a resident of the United Kingdom
- You will not buy or purport to an entry on behalf of anybody under the age of 18.
- You will provide accurate entry information, including you name and personal address.
- You agree that you shall not be entitled to receive any prize if you are unable to substantiate to the Promotor your representations under paragraph 2.
- Entry is open to all residents of the United Kingdom but excludes third party employees and RNID SLT, directly involved in the administration or management of the Weekly Lottery and Superdraws, who have the ability to influence the Weekly Lottery and Superdraw results.
- Entry costs £1.00 per play. Payment must be made in advance by one of the payment methods permitted. Entries may not be sold to or by anyone under 18 Years of age. Players may purchase more than 1 entry (subject to a maximum of 10 entries for the Weekly Lottery and a purchase of no more than 60 entries into the Super Draws).
- The RNID is not liable for any lost, stolen, delayed, incomplete or illegible entries, or entries that reach us after the closing date, or for any delay in bank payments. Proof of postage is not proof of delivery. Any money received after the closing date will be treated as a donation.
- RNID may (without giving any reason or notice, at its absolute discretion) decline to accept an application, cancel an existing subscription, terminate or suspend the Weekly Lottery or Superdraws.
- RNID reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. If we do so, we will publish the amended Terms & Conditions on our website.
- The RNID Weekly Lottery is operated by StarVale Management & Technologies LTD, our External Lottery Manager, on RNID’s behalf.
- The draw is conducted every Friday, or if this is not possible, on the next working day. The closing date for entries will be 5pm every Thursday. The draw takes place at The Tannery, Chapel Lane, Galgate, Lancaster, LA2 0PR, utilising a Randon Number Generator that has been tested and approved by an independent, Gambling Commission approved, third party test house. The results of the draw are final.
- Winners will be notified in writing as soon as possible after the draw. A list of winning ticket numbers will be made available within 7 days of the draw at lottery.rnid.org.uk/results or in print on request by calling the RNID Weekly Lottery helpline on 01524 752548. There are no alternatives to any prizes and no interest is payable. Winners’ cheques will be dispatched within 10 days of the draw.
- Any cheques remaining uncashed for over 6 months will be cancelled and the prize money will be treated as a donation.
- After your final entries into the Weekly Lottery, any sums under £1 will be treated as a donation.
- Please refer to the Complaints Procedure for details of how to make a complaint relating to the Weekly Lottery or Superdraws.
- We take social responsibility very seriously. Please refer to our Responsible Gambling Guide for information about responsible gambling, self-exclusion and how you can access information about, and help in respect of, problem gambling. If you’d like to be excluded from future RNID gambling related communications, please complete the self-exclusion form available online.
- From time to time, RNID Weekly Lottery Players’ entries will be automatically entered into the Superdraws. The Superdraws can also be entered online or by purchasing physical tickets.
- You may cancel your subscription at any time by notifying us by phone, email, or in writing.
The following terms and conditions apply to the RNID Weekly Lottery New Players’ Free Gift Draw
- Players in the New Players Free Gift Draw must be 18 years and over.
- Anyone who signs up to join the RNID Weekly Lottery for the first time will be automatically entered into the next months New Players’ Free Gift Draw held on the last Friday of the month, following receipt of payment for their first Weekly Lottery Entry.
- Cash gifts of £5 will be awarded to 90% of all entrants.
- Any cheques remaining uncashed for over 6 months will be cancelled and the unclaimed prizes will be treated as a donation.
- The draws will be held utilising a random number generator that has been tested and approved by an independent, Gambling Commission approved third-party test house.
- The gift recipient’s details will be available via the RNID Weekly Lottery helpline from the following working day. Please telephone 01524 752548 (Monday-Friday 9am-5pm).
- There are no alternatives to gifts and no interest is payable.
- There is no need to claim any of the gifts. The gift cheques will be posted out direct to the recipients by Royal Mail 2nd class post, within 7 days of the draw taking place.
- No liability is accepted for the loss, theft or delayed receipt of any communication.
- The Promoter may (without giving any reason or notice) decline to accept an application or terminate or suspend the scheme.
- The Promoter reserves the right to use gift recipient names for promotional purposes. These will only be used in summary e.g. Mr Smith from Peckham.
- The Promoter’s decisions made pursuant to the Rules shall, once made, be final and binding.
Birthday Draw Rules:

- Entrants in the RNID Birthday Draw must be 18 years and over.
- The Promoter will conduct the RNID Weekly Lottery Birthday Draw on the last Friday of every month. The draw will be made utilising a random number generator that has been tested and approved by an independent, Gambling Commission-approved, third-party test house.
- The winning details will be available via the RNID Weekly Lottery helpline from the following working day. Please telephone 01524 752548 (Monday – Friday 9am-5pm, excluding bank holidays)
- Entry into the Birthday Draw is only open to RNID Weekly Lottery players who have a valid entry on the last Friday of each month, and have a recorded date of birth for the month of the draw. e.g. Draw is last Friday of May then all birthdays in May are eligible.
- The Promoters may reject any entry without giving a reason at their absolute discretion. No detail in the entry may be changed in any way once the draw has been completed
- There will be five guaranteed prizes of £5 in cash every month. There are no alternatives to any prize and no interest is payable. Prizes will be sent by cheque within 14 days.
- No liability is accepted for the loss, theft, or delayed receipt of any communication.
- The Promoter may (without giving any reason or notice) decline to accept an entry or terminate or suspend the scheme.
- The Promoters reserve the right to use winners’ names for promotional purposes. These will only be used in summary, e.g. Mr Wright from Derbyshire, unless The Promoter and winner agree otherwise.
- The Promoters’ decisions made in accordance to the rules shall, once made, be final and binding
